The LPG cylinder inspection equipment produced by our company is suitable for use under normal ambient temperature of -40℃~60℃, with a nominal working pressure of 2.1MPa, a nominal volume of not more than 150L, and repeatable filling of LPG cylinders.

Cylinder periodic inspection items include: appearance inspection, valve seat inspection, wall thickness determination, hydraulic test, cylinder valve inspection and assembly, air tightness test. After the appearance inspection, if there is any doubt about the volume of the cylinder, the volume should be measured (supplementary inspection).

Advantages of Liquefied Gas Cylinder Inspection Equipment

Preventing dangerous accidents

Cylinder testing is designed to catch even small structural problems early, preventing catastrophic accidents and injuries.

Cost savings

Instead of replacing older cylinders before testing is due, you can have them recertified and save money.

Meeting TPED / DOT specifications

Instead of replacing older cylinders before testing is due, you can have them recertified and save money.

Avoiding penalties and fines

Transporting cylinders that are outdated or have not been tested can lead to costly fines and other penalties, jeopardizing your business.

Providing peace of mind

When you have cylinders that contain flammable or dangerous materials, regular hydrostatic cylinder testing ensures that they are safe and leak-free.

Increase efficiency

By working with a single partner to achieve a seamless solution throughout your project lifecycle.

Testing Stages of LPG Gas

Hydrostatic Pressure Testing
Once the cylinders of LPG gas are manufactured, they are hydrostatic pressure tested. In this process, the cylinder is filled with water and the pressure applied on it is much more than that which would occur during normal use. The intention behind this is to check if the cylinder can bear the LPG gas it will contain or not. If there is deformation, leakage, or failure at this stage, then it indicates a flaw in the cylinder's construction.

Leakage Testing
Leak tests are done to ensure the cylinder's sealing and valve mechanisms. In this step, the cylinder is pressurized with gas, and seams, valves, and connections are inspected carefully for leaks. One of the common methods applied is the bubble test, in which soapy water is applied to all potential leak points. Any bubbling is considered a leak that must be attended to before the cylinder can be deemed safe for use.

Post Production Testing
When the cylinder clears these preliminary tests, it goes for final post-production inspection where all the required safety valves, regulators and fittings are mounted onto the cylinder. These are of great importance in ensuring that consumers can safely use it.

Requalification Testing
Periodic requalification tests are critical after the cylinder is in service. This comprises pressure tests and visual inspections to ensure that, over time, the cylinder will continue to be safe and show no signs of wear or damage that could affect its performance. Routine maintenance checks help prevent leaks and identify potential problems before they become serious safety issues.

LPG Cylinder Residual Liquid Recovery Equipment

Safety Precautions

★When recovering residual liquid and residual gas under vacuum state, it is necessary to prevent a large amount of air from being pumped into the system, to avoid the formation of explosive gases (the volume concentration of the explosive range of liquefied petroleum gas in the air is 2.5~9.5%).

★Cut-off valves and venting valves are set up before the gas nozzle to prevent the leakage of cut-off valve, and to prevent the gas leakage into the incinerator before the ignition, so that an explosion occurs in the furnace chamber when at ignition. Therefore, after stopping the furnace or before ignition, must close the two cut-off valves, and open the air release valve to test if the first cut-off valve is leaking. Once the leakage is found, the first cut-off valve should be replaced immediately (to test the leakage of the second cut-off valve, can first close the second cut-off valve when the nozzle cut out, to observe whether the flame is extinguished, and to determine whether it is leaking).

FAQ

Q: What international and national safety standards apply to LPG cylinders?

A: LPG cylinders are required to follow international ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 4706) and Indian standards set by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). These are essential to ensure durability, leak-proof sealing, and safe storage under pressure.

Q: What tests are done on LPG cylinders for safety?

A: Cylinders go through several tests, including
Hydrostatic pressure tests,
Leak tests (like bubble testing),
Visual inspections for dents or corrosion, and
Post-production checks

Q: How often do LPG cylinders need to be tested?

A: LPG cylinders must be requalified every few years through pressure testing and visual inspections. Expired or untested cylinders should not be used as they pose safety risks.

Q: How can I check if my LPG cylinder is safe at home?

A: You can check safety at home by inspecting the cylinder for physical damage, whether the valve and regulator work properly, if there are any leaks by using the soapy water test, and verifying the expiry date stamped on the cylinder.

Q: What causes LPG cylinder accidents in most cases?

A: Most accidents happen due to faulty pipes, worn-out hoses, non-certified regulators, or poor cylinder maintenance. Using certified equipment and following safety checks significantly reduces risks.
